Interactive Program Guide Inc. ('IPG', based in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Keisuke Toji) and D2 Communications ('D2C', based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Akihisa Fujita) launched a new interface of the 'G-GUIDE Mobile' application for mobile phones, and expanded the features provided on the service.

The new version will be first available on NTT DOCOMO phones released on May 26th, as a pre-installed application. Version updates will also be available on some NTT DOCOMO models that support the older version of the service.

The interface for the top page of the G-GUIDE Mobile service has been significantly changed, improving the service usability. The top page has icons for the 'TV EPG', 'search feature', 'remote control,' 'one-seg', and 'remote recording', which allows users to access the features more intuitively.

A new advertising product has also been launched on the top menu page, which allows more effective advertising using images. Details on the advertisement can also be checked by clicking on the advertisement icon.

The new version will also provide the 'mini application' feature, which allows users to easily customize their G-Guide mobile service by adding applications of their preference.

IPG and D2C will continue work towards creating a new and enhanced TV-viewing experience, through realizing new features and services such as video and other services linked with partners that have not been provided on EPG services before.
Through the provision of the 'G-GUIDE Mobile' service, IPG and D2C have developed an environment that allows the speedy implementation of expanded features and services, in order to appropriately provide the diversifying types of TV related information to viewers, while the TV-viewing environment continues to change and communication services around broadcasting continue to expand.

■G-GUIDE MOBILE Usage Update

As of May 2010, the accumulative number of registered users for the 'G-GUIDE Mobile' service, launched in December 2004, has reached the 40 million mark over all three carriers, and continues to record the highest registered user base as a mobile phone application.
